Long time Connecticut radio legends Brian Smith and Pam Landry
broadcast LIVE every weekday. Along with the music, WOW provides local
news and weather updates plus lots of special guests that spotlight local
businesses, musicians (and other artists), community events and other
newsworthy guests from throughout Connecticut.

 

Born out of a passion for radio along with a strong desire to give back, Owner and President of WOW Toyota of Wallingford, Steve Zion, through a series of community interactions and collaborations, assembled a team of long standing radio, technical and community professionals in a collaborative effort to bring the highest and best broadcasting experience along with a visionary approach, to promoting all aspects of the community in order to both entertain and inform the public.

As a longtime, innovative entrepreneur and business owner, Steve understands the importance of combining grass roots efforts, personalized service and cultivating long term relationships to build a successful business with longevity, integrity, while maintaining a family environment. For over 90 years, WATR-AM has served the Greater Waterbury market and much of western Connecticut. Recently the (97.7 FM signal was added, growing the service area into central Connecticut. Since 1947 (78 years consecutively) WATR has provided play by play coverage of scholastic basketball, a feat unsurpassed in commercial radio history. Equally impressive is WATR's 43 consecutive years of high school football coverage. WATR is highly recognized for its commitment to public service including a heritage midday talk show, ethnic programming on weekends and deep participation in various community organizations.

 

Brian Smith Pam Landry, along with the WOWRadioCT.com & WATR team tirelessly serve the local community both through their daily live broadcasts as well as behind the scenes and advocate for the community through countless public appearances in support of all local businesses and non-profits as well as in on-air public service announcements they incorporate into their daily programming. Their mission is to bring a combination of humor, entertainment, good fun and good times to their listening audience and to provide important information and unwavering support for the community.
